1. Own transfers are not spending
A transaction whose other side is any synced account in the household (yours or your partner's) is an own transfer on both sides: neither income nor spending. Candidates matched by amount and date but without an account number are shown to you once to confirm; your decision becomes a rule.
2. Refunds count in the month they arrive
A refund or reversal reduces spending in the month the money came back, not the month it left.
3. A partial month stays out of averages
The first month of bank history is shown with a "partial" flag and is never included in averages or month-on-month comparisons. You can set a cycle day (payday on the 27th).
4. 52 trips are visits, not transactions
Card payments at the same shop within 10 minutes are one visit. The question "how often do I go to the shop?" counts visits.
5. A subscription = 3 payments at a steady rhythm
A merchant with at least 3 payments every 28-32 days (or 7, 14, 90, 365) and an amount within 15 % is a subscription. We only say "unwatched since March" when we have a usage signal; otherwise we say "paid since March".
6. An unknown shop stays unknown
"ZABKA Z9388 RYBNIK" is Żabka, outlet Z9388, Rybnik, because we have a rule. A name without a rule stays raw until you name it. We guess nothing and invent nothing.
7. A projection = arithmetic on your assumptions
"How much adds up over 30 years" is compound interest on the amount, at the rate and over the number of years you set. The result changes when you change an assumption. A calculator, not a forecast: tax and inflation are left out, and the screen says so.
8. We recommend nothing
We do not score creditworthiness, give ratings, compare products or write "you should". We never show amounts from an account your partner has not shared or from an account you have not ticked for read access.
FAQ
Can I change a rule?
Yes: the cycle day, shop names, own-transfer matches and categories are yours. The counting rules (visits, subscriptions, refunds) are fixed and described here so you know what you are looking at.
What if the bank gives no time of day?
The hour grid uses only transactions with a time. The rest is in the totals but not in the grid.
Does the letter from 2056 use different numbers?
No. The letter quotes only numbers from these rules, with the assumptions written under the text.
Disagree with how we counted? Write to support@kasandro.com with the rule number from this page. We will explain what the algorithm counted. Do not send us your bank statement.
